Red Cross Yearbook

Hi everyone! As the title suggests, we will be creating a RIRC yearbook for 2009, and we will need contributions from each and every one of you. We aim to finish this yearbook in time for our POC, and this will be one of the Sec 4s final contributions to the unit. The target will be a 500 page yearbook, so we really need everyone to contribute. So here’s what you have to do!

Individual

Just write anything about yourself that you want others to know about you. Talk about your hobbies, you personality, or anything else that you want to share.

Platoon

Submit a page or pages about your own platoon. Everyone in your own platoon must contribute to this segment. Again, you can write about anything that you want about your platoon.

Others

You can do anything you want to this page. Write about your experiences in camps, CIPs, trainings, out of training meetings, platoon outings, or about Red Cross in general. Or you can write about anything else that is Red Cross related, from gossips to rumors to anything that is unique to your batch or to RIRC. Write an essay, draw, paint, Photoshop, or present it in any medium that you think is best suited in expressing yourself.

If you have any cool or candid photos about Red Cross related activities or of your own batchmates, feel free to send to us too!

As we are targeting 500 pages, we hope that everyone will contribute as many pages as possible. However, if you feel that you are too busy, we only require a minimum of one page from everyone, but we do hope that everyone will contribute enthusiastically as this will remain with us forever and will serve to bring back memories of our time in RIRC when we look back at it like 20 years later.

Submission

If you are submitting your pages in hardcopy, just place in the Sickbay letter-rack, or pass it to your Sec 4 platoon mentors or any Sec 4 EXCO members. If you are submitting your pages in softcopy, email them to redcrossyearbook09@gmail.com.

Please note that you are not allowed to include racist remarks in the pages that you are submitting.

We hope that all of you will do as many pages as possible to help make this a success!

Updated Instructions for Sec1 E-Training

Hi all,

A new set of instructions has been uploaded at this page for the Secondary Ones' E-Training. Note that your Last name should be your PLATOON NAME ONLY and not your platoon name enclosed in brackets. The inclusion of brackets will cause an error that will invalidate registration. Apart from this, no other changes have been made.

Bear in mind that the completion of work assigned during E-training will count towards your attendance for CCA - it's your onus to find out what you have to do, and by when.

As always, the cbox is open for questions and enquires.

Thanks, and take care!

Collection of SFA photos

Though most of you have passed you SFA, we still need your SFA photos in order to prepare the SFA certificate. Some of you have handed in the proper photo already. However, below are the people who still owe us their respective photos.

Colin
Jee Kinn
Nicholas
Li Hong
Han Sheng
Brendan
Deodatus
Zhi Hao
Zhou Xuan

The Sec 3s will be collecting the photos of the forementioned people at the Raja Block Foyer on Monday (13th July) after school (3.15pm). Please meet with the Sec 3s to pass them your proper passport sized photograph.

At the back of the photo, please write your NAME, your NRIC, your Course No. (RCY 08/09) and the Course Date (6th July). Please use a ballpoint pen so that the ink does not smudge.

This is regarding your own SFA cert., so failure to do any of the above, will only result as a loss to you.

SFA preparations: Update

Hello everyone,

The FACOM08 Selection Test paper has also been uploaded at http://myrhetoricjeer.wordpress.com for extra practice.

Though platoon points will not be counted for this paper, please attempt the paper as well for extra practice.

As Jeremy and Saravanan have went through the SFA2008 paper on Wednesday during the extra training session, platoon points will no longer be counted for scores for that paper.

However, points will still be given out to award platoons whose members have made the effort to submit the paper. Only submissions made before Wednesday 5.30pm (that was the time when the paper was explained) will be considered.

Epsilon: 0
Iota: Brendan / Colin / Kai Yan (+15)
Omega: Han Sheng / Zheng Wei (+10)

As always, please approach Yan Tyng (92711800) or Jeremy (91158545) should you have any queries.

Good luck!
